Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) have commissioned a countywide remote survey data collection of traffic and public transport data by specialist transport monitoring companies, Tracsis and Severnside Transport Data Collection Ltd during November 2026. GCC will send out social media and other public information to inform residents and businesses.

Gloucestershire Strategic Transport Model Update – Data Collection Countywide in November 2026

During November 2026 camera survey equipment (3-days) and highway traffic data collection (2-weeks) will be placed on street lighting columns and on the highway to monitor traffic movements and bus and rail passenger usage across the county.  All data monitoring will comply with GDPR, anonymous data will be aggregated and reported to Gloucestershire County Council as part of our Gloucestershire Strategic Transport Model Update.

The information collected will inform the development of our multi-modal strategic transport model and help identify current and future transport growth. The transport model helps GCC and our partners in the district councils to understand where transport improvements and investment are needed and inform the development of future housing and employment growth and provide the evidence base for major transport infrastructure schemes such as bus rapid transit.
