From Westbury Farms, 01242 870 615 – represented by Mr. Tom Edwardes
This route is a permissive footpath only. Access is granted by kind permission of the landowner. It is not a public right of way and there is no intention to dedicate it as a highway. Under section 31 of the highways act 1980, the landowner reserves the right to close or divert the route at any time, with or without notice.
We urge people to keep off all other areas of private land at Manor Farm, as people have been walking on conservation wildlife strips, which are in place for our government environmental schemes. There is also a huge health & safety aspect, with the various activities that take place on the farm.
A number of residents at the Parish Council meeting on 13th April mentioned that they walked through Private Land at Manor Farm to reach Duntisbourne Rouse, to avoid the road. I would like to add that they are walking along these environmental conservation strips and are defeating the point of having them in place.
The map shows a footpath that goes in front of High Tun leading to Leaky Dam 2 and along the side of Daglingworth Grove to Duntisbourne Rouse. I suggest that residents use this public right of way to avoid the road and to stop causing damage to these environmental schemes.
